The floods that destroy Lodhran each decade are no longer natural disasters — they are climate disasters. LPP responds in the immediate term through humanitarian action and early warning, and in the long term through climate smart programmes that reduce the risk before the next disaster arrives.
LPP's community-based early warning network spans tehsil-level partner organisations across South Punjab. When a hazard is reported — by a community member, a partner NGO, or through our public website — LPP verifies it within 48 hours and mobilises or refers to PDMA/NDMA.
LPP's solar tubewell programme replaces diesel-powered irrigation pumps with solar energy systems, eliminating fuel costs and CO₂ emissions while making smallholder farmers more resilient to fuel price shocks. Each installation saves farmers PKR 80,000–120,000 per year.
LPP's urban forest programme has transformed school grounds, roadsides, and degraded land across South Punjab with native tree species. Women-run nurseries provide the trees, creating livelihoods while building green cover.
South Punjab's farmers are on the frontline of climate change — erratic rainfall, rising temperatures, and groundwater depletion are threatening livelihoods that have existed for generations. LPP's climate smart agriculture programme equips farmers with practical techniques to adapt.
Flood risk, drought, waterlogging, disease outbreak — if you see a hazard in your community, report it through our early warning system. LPP will assess and respond within 48 hours.
